A change is as good as a holiday & the psychology of colours.

For ages, I've wanted to be able to write on my office wall. I am a visual person and like to see my ideas on a big wall.
I've been in my office for 7 years and needed a change.
Last Monday, I took the day off. It was the anniversary of my mum's passing a year ago and I just wanted to do something creative, and I did!
I painted one of my office walls a pretty turquoise blue and then covered it with Write on the Wall Paint (from Resene). It was a bit tricky, but I am pleased with the result! The cheerful colour makes me instantly feel happy!
Below you can see the steps in painting my wall (very exciting, I know). The 2-pot mix has to harden for a week, so no writing on it yet!
Below is a chart of the meaning of different colours.
A handy little tool for your marketing material!
Have a great rest of your week!

Very interesting. We found that in the UK if the colour scheme was red in night clubs, that club would on average have more problems associated with violence than other clubs, regardless of patronage. The British prison system experimented with different colours in prison cells, and found that pink was also a calming colour.

Amazing the influence of colours... wonder if they also tried red in the prisons :)

Orange is also a great memory colour, learnt this studying interior design, perfect colour for study areas, even putting sheets or orange cardboard as a backdrop to your desk help with concentration and memory, and Baroque music quietly played in the background is a winning combination. Great idea for the office Marijke and hugs for a sad anniversary. Happy Memories xx

Sometimes all we just need is to re paint our places. Good choice of color will make your simple space look elegant. All white will make your space a bit smaller, but if you put some darker shade on other wall it will give depth and thus making your space appear spacious.

Tony
