Marketing Specialist and Director of Strategies Marketing Consultancy Ltd, Smartraining Marketing Education and the Smartourism Marketing Group.
Marijke is an established Tourism Marketing & Product Development Specialist and Trainer with over 21 years’ experience in marketing and professional development. She set up Strategies Marketing Consultancy Ltd in Queenstown in 2006 and has worked with hundreds of New Zealand tourism businesses.
Prior to that, she worked as a Marketing Consultant for SMS Ltd and as Manager of Tourism Southland, a regional tourism organisation.
Other work experience includes working for several corporates internationally, including Heineken, Randstad (the world’s largest recruitment agency), KLM (Dutch airline) and in market research and education.
Over the past 18 years she has assisted hundreds of New Zealand businesses and organisations in developing their marketing strategies. She has also been involved in a range of government funded projects.
Other marketing initiatives include setting up several Tourism Marketing Groups such as Smartourism, which has been operating since 2005. She works with a range of businesses and has strong expertise in the Tourism Industry. In 2016, she will attend her 16th TRENZ (largest tourism trade show in NZ).
Her qualifications include:
Marijke grew up in the Netherlands, France and the USA and speaks four languages fluently. She emigrated to New Zealand in 1994 and loves living here!
Her spare time activities include the outdoors, walking, skiing, Pilates, walking her dog, horse riding and paddle boarding.

Jessi, the office pup!
And last but not least - here's Jessi the office dog. She was born in November 2013 and is a black Labrador.
She has a hard life consisting of fetching the paper in the morning, eat, play, sleep, get taken to the lake for a walk, sleep more, eat more, walk again. She's very smart and learns new tricks all the time!
