It’s the end of the season for tourism businesses here in New Zealand and the end of summer for everyone (in this part of the world).
We all need to step out of our business sometimes to look at it from a different perspective and get some new inspiration. I’ve diligently been spending an hour a day on business development, which I have enjoyed and I have achieved quite a lot with this new habit. But sometimes, an outside perspective is even better! This is what I did: 1. I attended an inspirational event – the TedX event in Queenstown Sunday before last – what a well-organised motivational event that was! 2. I had lunch with a friend today who has been very successful in his field and has given me the inspiration to action the plans I have. 3. Last week, I spent two days at the Lodge at Walter Peak Station www.thelodge.net.nz (what an amazing spot!) to work on our planning for the next few years. Getting out of your own environment is sometimes needed to work ‘on’ your business. (Note: the next Marketing for Success Programme will start in July – more on this soon!) One more tip: plan a holiday! I must say, I haven’t had one for a while – but next month, I’ve planned a nice little trip away – can’t wait! A great way to clear your mind, relax and get inspired! CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE INFOGRAPHIC! Till next week, Marijke The best little planning tool around & it's now free! For Mac & Windows, Android & IPhone (& more)7/4/2015 For the past 6 months, I have been using OneNote (now free! It's a Microsoft product).
It’s a little programme that allows you to have all your notes in one place and is accessible on all your devices (pc, laptop, phone, tablet). And I love it! I am a planner. Always have been. I have goals, and action plans in place to achieve these goals (gotta practise what you preach!). In the past, I would have my notes and action plans just on my laptop and in hard copy format. Now I always have them with me. In OneNote, I have a range of categories relating to my business and personal life. Under each category, you can have subpages. It’s very simple to use and synchronises when you add any new info. Check it out, it’s free and usable on all your divices! www.onenote.com Give it a go! You won't be disappointed!
